God Knows YOU!

In my prayer time this morning, I was thanking God for the day, the beautiful sunrise, and the very air I breathe. As I was praying, I was hit by a simple truth…God knows ME. He knows ME, little old me, personally. At times I feel so tiny, so insignificant, just one of the crowd going about life, trying to survive like all the other people on the planet. There’s nothing special about me. Why would God care about someone so ordinary?

Yet He gently reminded me that in spite of how ordinary I am, He knows me. Intimately.

That simple truth warmed my heart in a brand new way. I couldn’t help but smile as I let that thought sink deep into my soul.

And you know what, He knows YOU as well! He knows you from the inside out!

It’s like going to a party where we don’t know very many people. What’s the first thing you look for when you enter that room? Someone you recognize, right! Then you make your way as quickly as possible over to them because that’s where you’re comfortable. Our hearts naturally long for a place where we are known and know others.

Being known is important.

Jesus spoke on this very subject in Luke. “What is the price of five sparrows—two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Luke 12:6-7 (NLT) The Good News is we aren’t just a casual acquaintance to God, He knows every hair on our head…or every hair missing from my husband’s head. Sorry, John!  I couldn’t help myself!

But truthfully, let that fact sink into your soul for a minute, my friend. God knows you intimately. When you pray, even with the billions of people praying in the world, you are important enough that He hears you.

When you weep, He sees every single tear that falls to the ground.

When you smile with the joy of the Spirit, He smiles right along with you.

God…Knows…YOU!

When that truth settles deep in your soul, I hope it fills you with the same sense of excitement and peace it did me.

The verse goes on to say that because of that truth, we don’t need to be afraid because God considers each of us valuable. In a world where it’s easy to feel lost in the crowd, isn’t it wonderful to be reminded of this beautiful nugget of truth!

Remember how intimately He knows you the next time you need an extra little hug from God!

Hugs and love,

~Jill
