I hate to rub it in, but you missed(Women of Faith, Lincoln) an awesome weekend of teaching and music. The speakers were absolutely amazing, and the music was moving and powerful. All in all, a great weekend of being moved from survival to revival!
One thing that really stuck out to me was Christine Caine’s phrase, “sometimes our miracles need a miracle.” Those words pierced right through to my heart. She talked about how sometimes the things we’ve been blessed with are in dire need of another blessing. Maybe a second marriage after a painful divorce needs revival. Maybe a child we weren’t supposed to be able to have is making bad decisions. Maybe we’ve been healed from cancer but now we’re struggling with everyday life again.
In my own life, I instantly thought about my ministry and my kids. I was given a miracle after my divorce with John and his unwavering support of my music ministry, something I thought I would never be able to do. With him forever pushing me on and never letting me quit, I’ve forged ahead. But as you all know, it hasn’t been easy! I’ve struggled along the way and have wanted to quit SO many times. God saw my need, however, and brought each of you into this ministry in sweet and unique ways. I truly cherish each and every one of you! Yet, I have big dreams and big goals and sometimes feel like my miracle needs a miracle! I feel like a very small fish swimming in a very large ocean! I think about what God did with a few simple stones in the hands of a simple shepherd boy and I see very clearly that God is indeed a god of miracles. He’s got this!
I also think about my sons. They were given to me through the miracle of adoption, and I’m so grateful for them. The years of infertility left me thinking I would never be a mother, but God provided. Right now my first miracle, Christopher, definitely needs a miracle. He’s going through some very rough times with the Marines, and I would earnestly ask for your prayers. I’m not alone either. I know Tiffany is struggling with her son Troy as well, who is in his own crisis right now. Please pray for these precious sons and for all of our families. Others of you may be going through things I’m not aware of, so let’s just cover all of our families with prayer this week. I’m sure each of us can use it!
The hard part about miracles is so often we have to wait for them to come, and I don’t like waiting! I get impatient and start thinking God has forgotten me. We know He could answer right away. . .he’s God, right. . .yet sometimes he asks us to wait.
Isaiah 30:18 says, “Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”
So if you feel like you are in a season of waiting right now and your miracle needs a miracle, remember that God longs to be gracious to you and He hears every prayer. He may not answer in our timing or exactly how we want Him to, but He will answer and He will give us that miracle. Let’s be ready to receive it!
